Sponsored meetings guidelines
We invite members of The Coleopterists Society to submit requests for sponsorship for their beetle-focused events.
Eligibility. Any member of The Coleopterists Society (TCS) in good standing can request support for their beetle-focused events.
Sponsorship. Contingent upon request.
Some examples of support include:
- Access to TCS Zoom account to run virtual meetings; promotion of the event via TCS social media; promotion of the event on TCS website.
- Award for best student presentation*
- Travel funds
- To bring key invited speakers
- To support student travel to the event*
* awardees to be selected by a committee of those who requested support. The Society can provide certificates if requested.
Sponsorship does not support purchasing equipment or other consumables for events.
Applications.
- A short event description and explicit statement of goals, indicating how the support of TCS will enhance the event, in line with TCS’s mission: devoted to the study of all aspects of systematics and biology of beetles of the world.
- If the event has been executed in the past, a summary of highlights of previous editions.
- Applications can be submitted any time, at least one month before the event is to take place.
Conditions.
- Sponsored party commits to abide by The Coleopterists Society Ethics statement and the Code of Conduct of the Entomological Society of America.
- If the request includes support for virtual meetings, the sponsored party commits to open the event for all members of the Society.
- The sponsored party will include a logo of TCS in the event’s promotional materials. The logo shall be requested from the secretary.
- A short pre-recorded statement by the President of TCS can be requested and presented during the meeting.
